The Impact of Investor Resilience and Locus of Control on Investors’ Risk Attitude
Abstract
The study focuses on understanding the features of a resilient investor as it is a quality that helps in sustainable investments. A structured questionnaire was designed and administered to 150 respondents. The investor resilience level was calculated on the basis of 25 statement score sheet on a five-point Likert scale using SPSS. Investors who have high resilience have better ability to manage shocks and are less scared of volatility in the market. Regression results show that females are more resilient than males. Married people are more resilient than the single. There is a negative relationship between age and resilience. Locus of Control is positively related to an investor’s resilience. The study contributes to the existing literature of behavioral finance and investment, which can help potential researchers in their future work in the same field. For successfully creating long-term investment plans and aligning them with life goals, resilience is required. Our study is helpful in predicting various alternatives that investors can adopt as per their resiliency.
Keywords: investor, resilience, risk attitude, locus of control.
